Job Title: Flagger / Traffic Controller
Job Summary
- Responsible for directing and controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic in construction, maintenance, or roadway work zones to ensure safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct traffic using approved hand signals, flags, signs, and communication devices
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (cones, barricades, signage)
- Ensure the safety of workers, motorists, pedestrians, and the public
- Communicate clearly with crew members and other flaggers to manage traffic flow
- Follow traffic control plans, safety procedures, and local regulations
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control methods as needed
- Respond calmly and professionally to drivers and the public
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues to supervisors
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid flagger/traffic control certification (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety standards
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move traffic control equipment
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction or roadway settings

Job Summary
- Responsible for safely guiding and controlling vehicle traffic through construction or maintenance zones using a pilot vehicle, ensuring smooth traffic flow and protection of workers and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a pilot vehicle to lead vehicles through work zones at safe speeds
- Communicate with flaggers, traffic controllers, and site supervisors to coordinate traffic movement
- Follow approved traffic control plans and safety procedures
- Use two-way radios, signage, and warning devices to manage traffic flow
- Maintain safe spacing between vehicles and construction equipment
- Monitor road and traffic conditions and adjust operations as needed
- Ensure pilot vehicle is properly equipped with required signage and warning lights
- Respond professionally to motorists and address questions or concerns when appropriate
- Report hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to supervisors
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Pilot vehicle / traffic control certification (or ability to obtain)
